  4. Thanks for the add. I am Wayne and I live in Australia. I have several guitars which I love to play. My guitar tech has moved to another area. I figured that I may as well learn some maintenance/repair techniques to keep my instruments in good condition. I am in a rural region and guitar techs are thin on the ground. Looking forward to learning some stuff.

4-5 yrs ago I was able to hold a pick again , I sometimes use glue but itโ€™s gotten better . Even if youโ€™re not Hendrix , Page or Zappa be thankful for your abilities . I also forgot a great deal so the free guitar repair bench is greatly appreciated

  7. I just want to thank you for a recent article that i was able to read from your site that help me tremendously. I own a couple of Jackson guitars with the floyd rose tremelo, and my older one was not playing the way it had been when i first bought it, and I have always been weary of messing with the floyd rose string action since it has alot of settings and I am not familiar with how to adjust it. Not until now, because i followed your instructions did what you said to to do, and now I have what seems like a brand new guitar. I intend to take the guitar to the shop and look over the intonation because i don’t want to mess with that just yet, not until I have to. i intend to use this site again and again for all the fantastic articles. Thanks so much, your site is fantastic.

  8. Thank you brother Iโ€™m actually a drummer since 11 (now 46 Keith is my benchmark now๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) taught myself guitar on acoustic but a passion for electronic music and has led me to electric 6 and bass guitars and their funky pedal friends. I built myself a studio and CBG and… anyway bought a Strat copy, built myself a bass from a kit online ( felt like I had birthed a child) and had been buying cheap electric guitars for the parts to make CBGโ€™s to sell when I bought a Gibson Les Paul copy to strip, but before I did I plugged her in and gave it a strum and as that first chord hit my eardrums my first thought was AC/DC and f*&# yeah . Hello Rockโ€™nโ€™roll ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽถ Amazing how wood and shapes and pickups dramatically alter tone

  9. I have a Martin D45; a clumsy accident chipped the neck binding. The repair is less than stellar and the craftsman is out of business. The small wedge is of a different colour and I think composite, not abalone, thus there is a visible line where it was inserted, the very end of the linear run towards the sound hole. Any suggestions ? If I knew what material he used I’d experiment, a drop of iodine maybe and wet sand 1000 grit with oil soap ??
